OSA | a team of professionals and consultants
On September 8, 1981, the houses of Ulassai, the hometown of Maria Lai, were entirely tied by its inhabitants with a blue denim ribbon – donated to the artist by the only merchant in the area – whose end was carried to the top of the mountain overlooking them. With this gesture, the Sardinian artist tied an entire community to their mountain.
This example of relational art originated in 1979 from a request by the then mayor to create a Monument to the Fallen. Maria Lai responded by saying that she would indeed create a work, but for the living. In the remote Ogliastra, in Sardinia, where relationships between people were not exactly in harmony and where hydrogeological risk has always loomed over the safety of the town, the operation conceived by the artist, titled "Tying to the Mountain," managed to create new connections between the inhabitants and the territory.
Maria also set an example in terms of collaboration between art and the fashion industry, through a fruitful partnership with the designer Antonio Marras.
OSA was born from the very idea of creating important connections between people around art and business.
